Pest I've found after tips from DB more light coats of gloss with more than 2 days cure time gives a more glossy finish if that's what you're trying to achieve. Try it out you have one month to enter August bro
Well I'm trying to get a semi gloss finish, I want it to be shiny, but not as shiny as a Gibson... I'll spray the body with my Fender Guitar Polish and see how to turns out!!!
I hope it turns out ok Callum.Quote:

But don't they teach you anything at school these days, Fender polish on a Gibson guitar??? They are mortal enemies ;)

Hey guys, after looking at the third top coat, I've decided it's ready for the fun stuff!!! But there is a problem... When I installed the pots to test fit everything to make sure the body didn't break or swell too much, I found the neck volume pot doesn't fit... It it the one with the little nib on the side, but I doubt that is the problem, the problem is that the shaft is a little bit short for the nut, and the nut won't even tighten if I have the washer!!! Any ideas??? Maybe the shielding is doing it!??
And here's the body with the top coats, I was looking for a shine that was glossier than satin, but not as shiny as 'The N Word', and that is what I got after 3 coats!!! The neck is getting the top coats starting today, it will have 2-3 coats I think!

Miss Fiona said "And at what point in time are you going to tidy your bedroom" :)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Tell her great luthiers and to-be luthiers never have time to clean their rooms!!
Especially when they are sick!!! I have been struck down by a "barking" cough (I've had it at least once every Winter for the past 5 years now...), which makes my chest hurt a lot (but it has improved!!!) along with a sinus infection that is also improving, I've had it since Wednesday and im almost fully recovered now!!! I am going to finish the top coats on the back and sides tomorrow and start the top coats on the neck tomorrow as well!!!
Also, look up to the post right before the pics, i have a problem....
I found the same thing on my LP.. I sharpened up the little tab (locator tab)so it would bite into the wood a little easier and also used my dremel to make the seat deeper.. to allow that smidgeon more thread of the shaft to poke through so I could then fit the washers and nuts .Quote:
