Yeah man, that's choice!! Did you take a bit off the top back corner or is that just an optical illusion?
Metallic blue with a Southern Cross, she should look pretty patriotic!!

cheers Barge, you mean the lower horn ? thats basically been chopped off. Yeah the bottom corner where the elbow cut is has been cut a little, not as much as your build. We were going to cut the rounded edges off but kept the rounded edges and will try a binded axe probably on a flat top like a tele.
You've made page 23 Barge, not far off the record length build diary !
The colour and southern cross stars will be something like my Iceman build before I had a clear coat fail and had to sand it all off !
cheers Barge, I wanted a shape different to yours and there are only a handful of shaping options really with the large control cavity.
We're running out of hanging space in the workshop and started another new project haha
haha nice paintshop Barge ! The chances of the axe getting a kiwi flag on it are about as low as me getting out of the naughty room hahaha
I should get the elves to build a bigger workshop but then I'd just want to start new projects
Clear coats are all done on the headstock and taken back to 2000 ready for a buff further down the track. Might do a fret level and start DT clearcoats on the neck tomoz, we'll see what happens.
This is the new stain DB sent out after my last lot went lumpy, 4 coats stain, 2 coats intensifier. It's unbelievably (nullarbor ochre) red in comparison to the first lot, but I quite like it so that's cool. The crappy black round the outside of the body was my first attempt at a spray burst but I didn't like it and took it back, I fix that tomoz too.
Somewhere along the staining process I've gotten some on the bottom of the body which is unbelievably hard to get off without getting back into the coarser grades of paper so I'm thinking I might do one coat of "bloodwood" on the back/sides, it'll make the binding pop more too.
lots of work there Barge, I quite like that red too
Chopped neck plate seems to fit.
Made up some plates with leftover maple veneer and stock pickguard material.
Bridgeposts drilled and bridge in although the scale length isn't quite working out. Even measuring with the stock bridge pushed right forward it's still sitting too far back. Having never assembled one of these I'm not really sure what the go is here.
