If you ever gig with the guitar, see how many drunken people you can convince the guitar is a magic eye of a smaller guitar (possibly with a magic eye of an even smaller guitar on it).

@Bargey - yeah the rosewood does look good. Pretty difficult for me to pull off however ;). After all your hard work, I'm still leaning towards black or white.

Just as an aside, Gav. I'm in two minds about re-colouring my RC-1 (my first build). It's no secret I love blue Rickies and I'm thinking of doing just that. How hard was it to get all the colour off when you stripped back this? Especially having the set neck that you can't whip out.

should be pretty easy to strip back wudtone Lozza, I'd use a 180 and 240 grit orbital sander, shouldn't be an issue with the set neck other than around the neck/body join you will have to hand sand that area if you are retaining the neck colour, but if its going to be blue all over just attack it with the orbital.

Yeah mine was a bitch because of all the acrylic paint and poly I had lumped on there. Wudtone should be much easier depending on how deply the colour penetrates the veneer. I had no colour in the base wood, but the paint stripper I used to get rid of the acrylic murdered the binding :( .
