And it's 3 for 3. Musicvox MI-6 bass. And like just about all Musicvox instruments, it's ghastly to behold. Should be called Medusa instead.

Eww, thats pretty hideous.
Aside from everything else- how annoying would the lead be coming out of that jack position?

And then there is this mutant, which to me looks like a torso with the limbs hacked off. Also illustrates one of the main issues with 'inventive shapes' to get it to sit on your knee it needs that extra bar protruding, which always looks like an after though to me.

The Teuffel Tesla is pretty cool if you ask me. The Birdfish on the other hand...

or the Niwa. Ew.

Then again, none of them I would pay the $10k ish they are worth.
So you throw up once on the design aspect and then again at the cash register?
10K? really?
Hoo boy- 30 years ago this disaster was trying to be sold. Gibson have never had much luck with their basses, and the 20/20 was no exception.
It's just a Steinberger bandwagon wannabe bass. Considering the amount of cocaine the Voldemort management were on at the time and its inspiration, I don't consider it too bad.
Well, it's not headless, which makes the neck longer and which is why they had to add that small top horn to get it to balance. But it is certainly 'very inspired by'.
The bowler runs up the the crease and throws, the ball looks like its going wide... but bounces back and... and... and... it's a bass solo!
Some searching uncovers that the 20/20 was developed in conjunction with Ned Steinberger (at least that's what it said on the adverts), so not simply a rip-off.

Ned Steinberger has had a more fruitful collaboration with Emmett Chapman to develop the NS/Stick.

As an aging and no longer fast bowler who also plays bass I resemble that remark :D
Many years ago I had a short bass solo in Proud Mary, one night the bastrads walked off stage one by one so I kept going figuring that would come back shortly, 10 minutes later they were leaning against the wall out front with a beer in their hands.
Not happy Jan ( the audience got the joke though )
Was on my VI though so I had plenty of scope to have fun
:p

I love the slogan ‘Try it if you dare!’ lol. It’s nearly as cool as a keyboard guitar

This has actually given me an idea, oh yeah!
Ugly or Beautiful? I'm leaning toward ugly.
Love to see it without all the white and gold and LZ branding though...
That'd be a bugger for string changes and fretboard cleaning.
I know its all subjective...but..yikes

Then there is this weird 'Tron Cockroach' thing....

I think a lot of corks are called for - you could put someone's eye out with that one!
Something fishy about this one...

what kind of Tuna's are those?
Shoal-ers.
When guitar design not only jumps the shark...but is a shark....
A couple more ugmos (in my opinion)
