Not sure I like the gold on this would prefer black even chrome. Headstock is a little off for me too.

The 'fade' finish seems to be this year's 'in' thing. Lots of them from different manufacturers at NAMM. Doesn't work for me at all as I only think it works with the guitar vertical, not in a playing position. It's not a horrendous finish by any means, but IMO it's not a great look.
As an owner of a Steve Morse Sig model, this one pushes all my buttons.

Ibanez Artcore AF85 (or very similar model). probably slightly more red in the photo than in actual life.

that game didnt last long, next player up....
Ibanez did a lot of hollow bodies with wooden pickguards, and the headstock widens at the top end like an Ibanez one. It was just the tailpiece that got me for a while, as it seems quite specific to that model.

ooh, very nice. Looking forward to making some progress on my Kraken guitar in the next month or so.
One for Adam... from the Fujigen custom shop........solid Rosewood

Didn't George Harrison have a Fender in rosewood about the time of "Let it be"? Looks fabulous...
The ones that the custom shop reissued weight 4kgs and are chambered. About the same as a Les Paul. A standard Tele weights about 3.5-3.6 kgs. George's one apparently wasn't chambered and weighed over 5kgs. Fender also made a Rosewood Strat for Hendrix, but it was never delivered to him and it's current whereabouts are unknown.
staying with rosewood....from Gretsch

Wouldn't want a naked flame near it.
cheers, Mark.
The insane level of patience required to see that through is mind-blowing.
Here's a thread with some beautiful custom bass's

Nice designs, but I don't understand the two strap pins. Is that just to adjust the height of the body to make it easier to reach?
I can see the reasoning for the double necker, but not for the standard single neck style.
I'm with you Zandit as if you used the lower one there is a tendency for the overbalanced top half wanting to fall forward.
I have seen the 2 rear strap buttons on Steinberger and maybe someone might use a leather strap where the thin end has 2 holes and thus helps to hold it better? They are so light weight in comparison to a normal Bass so cannot understand the thinking behind it? I would simply use the strap pin nearest the top?
Attachment 27218
The two strap buttons make sense on the Steinberger simply so that it stands up when leant against a wall. With just one on the bass side, then it would lean at an angle and most likely keep going and hit the floor at the lightest touch or vibration.
But on that 5-string? It would make sense for the same reason if they stuck out beyond the ends of the rear cut-away, but they don't. Maybe the builder has a bad back, so uses one of the various harness-type straps you can get to spread the load and the two strap buttons are for that? Or maybe they prefer a higher position for the rear strap button and the lower one is purely there for balancing the visuals?
Yet another beautiful guitar from Mark Hatcher from the US. This one Ovangkol B&S's with an Engelman Spruce top. Simply Stunning!!

yep, I love em! it's funny how if that didn't have Gibson on it but Reverend or ESP the fan boys wouldn't have blinked an eye and would have thought it was nice but because Gibson DARED to do something different ( like they keep asking them to do) they piled crap on it.
Agree.
Gold looked better than silver and black/purple ones in the video.
