good stuff Nitro, so assume that's Miniwax gloss oil based ?
that veneer is going to look special after some clear coats
Just a side point for anyone who wants some wipe on poly, make your own......

Disaster....use the clear filler, left it overnight and checked it the next morning and it had crazed and turned white not clear. Aagghh. Left it till the weekend, still the same so spent 4 hrs sanding it all off and picking it out the cracks, used water and a scraper and sandpaper. Hope i havvnt wrecked the veneer. Went a little bit through the veneer when i was sanding, on one of the edges. Will post pics tonight.
ouch, clear coats and fillers seem to be the most difficult thing to get right and cure properly
so here what happened to the clear filler that i used

i decided on the thinned down stained Timbermate which i applied with a rag and buffed and wiped off the access.

I sanded back a section and applied some metho to simulate the clear...i think it will look ok after another thin coat or two of timbermate to build up coats and wipe off to fill the cracks only.
