You could always have the Southern cross on the headstock, and 7 pointed stars on the fingerboard with the larger federation star as the 12th fret.
I have a Southern cross transfer on my main bass.

Lamingtons.
Thongs.
Hills hoist.
Haha thanks everyone for the suggestions.
To summarise the list we have:
Kangaroos
The Big Prawn
Stars with the Southern Cross at the 12th
Spiders
Snakes
Sharks
Boomerangs
Bush Hats
Footballs, Meat Pies, Kangaroos and Holdens
The state and territory outlines with the whole of Aus as the 12th
Starts with Federation Star as the 12th and Southern Cross on Headstock
The Big Merino
Goulburn Supermax (haha)
Lamingtons
Thongs
Hills Hoist
I'm still unsure, I actually have an idea but I have to be honest it is out of my depth and not sure I could pull it off.
I saw this PRS and thought it would be cool to do an Australian image that is a collage of the iconic things but I am nowhere near artistic enough to blend everything together and make it look good and not tacky. And the inlaying would be incredibly difficult. I suppose if I could find an airbrush artist that could be an option.

That guitar makes me think of the Sydney skyline.
What about a montage of all your favourite politicians? ;)
The saucepan?
As a side note, I want to get people's thoughts. After I've completed the woodwork on the Rick and the Strat I am considering having a go at making a Fiddle/Violin. Would it be appropriate to have a build thread for that on here (in the non-pitbull guitars gear section) given it is technically a guitar site?
I am not a moderator, but we already have threads for a mandolin and other things that are not guitars. IMO stringed instruments of all persuasions fit since the techniques overlap so much.

Made a mistake tonight and thicknessed the sheoak fretboard too thin. So the fretboard will now be a piece of greenstone mallee which is the second board from the left.

I can see a fretless guitar as a future build to make use of it. ;)
Haha thanks for the suggestions lads. I've already given the board to another bloke to use for another project.

Neck blank all marked up.* Truss rod slot is next.

Oh.. this is the scary part.
Well one of them. Good luck!
I can't look!
It’s not so scary if the dog can rout straight, and doesn’t try to take too big a bite with each pass.
if the pup isn’t confident then it might be best to do it yourself Woltz.
So I looked closely at the piece of Greenstone Mallee today and it's too twisted to use unfortunately.* I'll have to source another blank for a fretboard.* I also noticed that the neck blank has shifted a bit since it was thicknessed.* Even though it isn't dead flat I'll still progress forward with it because it's only a very small amount of bow and*I'll check for any sign of twisting tomorrow.
I haven't done it yet. I've just been debating between two methods for the access hole.
Haha he doesn't come anywhere near the shed when the routing is happening because I have the ryobi shop vac going for dust collection and he's scared of vacuum cleaners for some unknown reason. So I guess it'll have to be me that does it.
Despite dragging my feet a bit I've got some stuff done. I need to get this one close to being ready for the finish so I can turn my full attention to the Rick build.
Cavities routed and a test fit of the neck template. It's a little loose but considering how cold it is at the moment and with low humidity I'm happy with that, less chance that in summer there becomes an issue with the neck pocket being too tight.

And checking again that my choice of hardware colour is going to look ok.

I need to rout the truss rod cavity in the neck then I can put my router back in the table and do the roundover.
That's some very tidy routing there!
Really nice work Waltz!
Thanks gents. Although to be honest it could've been better. There is quite a bit of router burn which you can't see. I shouldn't have used that bit because it needs to be sharpened. Just means more sanding to clean it all up because I'm planning just to clear coat this one.
Got around to doing the truss rod rout today.

And then got my router back in the table and did the roundover on the body.

I still need to do the roundover transitions near the neck pocket and the arm and belly carves.
All looking good.
Very tidy vyving Woltz, great work!
Got the neck flush routed and drilled the tuner holes. I also started tidying up the roundover transitions around the neck pocket.

Then the test fit and the disappointment set in. The fit is sloppy. And I still need to sand the neck which will make things worse.

Clearly somewhere in the template making process I wasn't accurate enough. Now I'm debating whether to ignore it (considering it's a bolt on neck so it's more an aesthetic thing than a functional issue) or glue a piece of veneer into the pocket to tighten it up.
Arguably you're going to have to fill a gap with something at some stage, so it may as well be veneer now.
It doesn't look too bad, and even though you will sand, the finish will also add some material so it might work out OK. What are the finishing plans?
If you lacquer the sides of the neck pocket and the neck I wonder how big the remaining clearance will be?
