I know. But you roll with what the guitar gods give you in the build in my experience and it looks grey to me.
It does to me too, though in a different light or in the flesh, the blue may come through more.
It was suposed to be blue with lime over the top but there wasnt enough pigment in the stain to show any blue so i rubed it of with turps before it dried, but suprisingly the liming white has brought a smokey blue hue out in the grain. Sometimes mistakes turn out good
Smokin'!
On a better note this one is coming along swimmingly Attachment 25658Attachment 25659Attachment 25660

Classy looking logo Adam.
Anything going on the front?
Thanks waz Attachment 25700
Great job on the logo Adam, did you print it yourself? Unfortunately I don’t have a printer and I’m no good on the old confused, it took me two weeks to design mine on Microsoft ,then got it printed by “Dr Decal and Mr Hide”where he duplicated it to fill the whole page.
I now have enough logos to do 40 guitars.
Thanks wayne, yes i printed a page in differenr colours then a light spray of clear over the top to seal the inkAttachment 25702
Over the last 2 days ive been able to get 10 50/50coats of t/o on its touch dry in 30 mins and recoat in 75mins. Starting to really go flat and shiny

I know I'm the odd one out for thinking this, but I'm not a fan of spalted timber. To me it just looks like a defective board from a diseased tree. Despite that, I reckon this guitar has tuned out amazing! Fantastic job! Perhaps its because the spalt is so subtle on this particular one, but the awesome finish certainly helps.
Probably the best attribute of spalted tops is not having to worry about a mismatched flame maple veneer or incorrectly aligning quilted maple, and then also having to contend with the all too common off centre glue joint.
Some spalted tops have been stunning with Zandit's being the most memorable one.
Cheers, Waz
Im out of oil so that will have to do, I'll let it sit for a few days before polishing up

That’s looking awesome, nice work.
So tonight ive done the neck flattened and crowned frets and dingo waxed the fret board, the two tone fret board has come up a treat.
Couldnt resist a mock build ive ordered all black hardware exept for the tuners i like the bit of chrome against the black.
I was going to make a trussrod cover but after putting a kit one on it sort of suits it, Attachment 25735Attachment 25736Attachment 25737Attachment 25738
That looks fantastic, well done!

Wow, that's looking real nice.
Yeah I agree, that looks unreal, the whitewash on the back and sides really makes the top pop.
