very cool track DK, love that lap steel sound. Looked like there was 3 lap steels on the beast he was playing, presume different tunings on each

That one is a pedal steel, different tuning on each neck with a bunch of pedals and levers to change the pitch of the strings
Here's a view of the mechanics from underneath a twin neck and also a single neck, typically they have 10 strings per neck and the one with the single neck in the pic has 8 pedals and 4 levers to modulate the pitch up and down across the 10 strings, the levers are operated by both knees and the pedals typically by left foot only because the right foot is on the swell pedal
( or yeah they are also fretless so good pitch is essential )
very interesting DK, I've always been fascinated with pedal steels, never seen one in the flesh.
We better stop the jacking or DB will move it to the naughty warehouse.
I watched the Falls Creek vid and started Mt Hotham, cool cars look like fun to drive
I posted a couple of photos in the Gallery thread, but here's some more shots of this beautiful guitar.
I've always had my eye on the Gretsch Silver Falcon, but just thought it was a bit over-priced for a Chinese built guitar.
This GR-1SF, built by DB, has changed my mind. It's a sensational guitar and I can't keep my hands off it.
I'm reluctant to make too much of a fuss, because we don't have these GR-1SF kits in stock until December, but thought I should share some "glamour shots" on this thread.
Just check out the awesome Butterscotch finish (coming soon)... you can really see the gold "fleck" in the close-ups.
Nice work DB, I'm very happy with this one.

on the contrary Adam, the more fuss you make, the more of these PBG will sell.
it's a sensational guitar and DB has done a superb job
I hear you Stan, but when you promote a kit that is out of stock, it looks bad.
The problem is, it's impossible to predict which of our 100+ kits is going to be flavour on the month, 3 months in advance.
When Island_Moose won Guitar of the Month with his FS-1G, we were inundated with orders for that kit. Realistically, prior to his build, I had FS-1G kits coming out of every orifice. Now, after his win, I can't order enough of them.
Same with the GR-1SF, which our good friend Pest suggested. We had stacks of these kits before DB's build, and they just sat there taking up space. Now, since a few people have finished them, EVERYONE wants one and we can't keep up.
Also, who'd have thunk that the RC-4 and RCA-4, a kit suggested by you Forum members, would become one of our biggest sellers?
And the MK-2 and MKA-2, a "left-of-field" request from Gavin Tuner, is now up there in our most popular kits.
If I had unlimited budget and unlimited warehouse space, we would order 100 of every kit. Alas, real world limitations apply and I have to do my best to judge which kits are going to sell 3-4 months ahead.
Welcome to my nightmare.
Go Wallabies!
Oh jeez I still remember asking about that haha! Don't worry Adam I have not removed it off my list of builds!
looks like it's time to learn from history:
what ever wins GOTM, order those in damned quick, haha
Adam - have you ever been less than totally happy with a DB build?
looks awesome well done DB.
That gold fleck looks awesome.
