looks excellent Joe the colour, I missed the update over the weekend. The white pickguard and maple neck really suit the colour. Well done should be a sweet rig when its finished

Nice.. Your Daughter has good taste in colour.
Got her sanded and buffed up today, all done by hand as the clear was a bit to thin for the power buffer, my fingers are still numb.
I sanded back to the under coat is some places, lucky they are on the back but one is one the front. But it still looks good and my daughter (who has now claimed it) said she likes it as it looks like its been played.
Starting to look good now, needs a new nut and my daughter wants "Padawan" in gold for the logo, if I can get one made.
Looks amazing Joe great work
Fantastic! Really digging this one.
Lovely bass you have done a great job on it and colour scheme is sensational

Damn!!! What a finish, you sure that's not a bought one?? Very nice job.
I think Bargey is right Joe: it's not right to buy a factory guitar and claim you built it!
Super nice job mate, very slick
I think yours is going to turn out better than mine.
Finally got her wired up and done, I haven't had a good play yet but it all works. Only problem I had was when I was putting the strap lock on the guitar slipped and put two bigs dings in the paint near the bridge, and being a metallic color the only fix is to repaint so its going to stay, still looks OK though. Was a fun build and thinking about my next one now
Awesome Joe. That's a real pretty bass.
Gorgeous bass, Joe- it reminds me of Herbie Flowers' main Jazz Bass...
love the look of the bass Joe, well done. Bummer about putting dings near the bridge.
What's the next kit on your radar ?
Really digging this guitar man. Looks excellent - especially love the headstock design.
Thanks Guys :)
Next time I will drill and screw the strap locks in before doing the finish ;)
For my next one I am thinking strat style. I have always liked the Mary Kay finish with gold hardware, a maple fret board and vintage white pearloid pickguard. I might have a go at building a body I have all the tools might as well put them to use. If it turns out ok I will get a neck and the hardware, if not I will get a full kit.
I also have a mahogany LP body that my son was building. He's cut it out and routed the main shape, I could finish this as well. If I do I'm thinking Studio style LP, mahogany red with P90's. Just wish he kept the off cuts so I could change it into a Tele. A mahogany red Tele with hot P90's sounds much cooler to me
wow bummer about the marks near the bridge, would have been better if it was on the back of the body. Oh well at least its got the well used look now !
