crikey, well done Rob and Pete for the last 2 entries.
I'm sure the judges will have a nightmare this month must be 5 or 6 excellent entries already !

Oh wow! This month is gonna be HUGE! Already so many fantastic entries! Judges are gonna have their work cut out for them.
wow, great entries.
That Frankenstrat is epic, Trev!
So many awesome builds.
That SG is simply breathtaking though. If it sounds as good as it looks, you've got yourself a pretty fantastic guitar there. Just don't let me anywhere near it, otherwise you might not have it any more... ;)
Trevor & The Duke's guitars are great. But I think I'm in love with Peter's SG.
Yes the SG is very classy
Very very big month! The work here is incredible. Just a thought, the top 3 get feedback on their work when the month is judged, what do you think about giving feed back to the runners up in no particular order. Just so it gives those guys the chance, knowledge and guidance to get up in the upper echelon next time round.
great idea Andrew but I think the judges have a tough enough task just picking the top 2 or 3 entries. I think if you ask the judges they may be able to give you feedback via email
Hi Andrew, we do collect comments from all the judges (except those who are just too busy) on all the entries, it's just a bit of work collating them all and then posting on the Forum, but it can be done. I'll give it a go for October and see how it plays out.
Thanks for the feedback.
Wow thanks Adam. I'm sure the entrants would appreciate that also.
well there you go, never underestimate the service of PBG !
Just hope they have wifi on the Maldives where DB probably will be end of September !
Alright guys, here is my spalty lp kit i scored for a dime because it had a tiny chip in the top. the guitar is stock save for mid 90's epiphone les paul pickups, and vintage cloth wire. the guitar is stained with fw japan black top, acrylic black airbrush burst then cleared with 2 pack. sides, neck and head stock are japan brown, and a custom Dutchy truss rod cover finishers her off as a nod to my dutch wife.
thanks for your consideration!

Bloody nice job Andrew
Thanks buddy.
Andrew that looks amazing. There are some beautiful guitars in this months comp. Good luck judges.
well done Andrew this spalty LP has come up a treat. Love the truss rod cover. How does it sound and play ? Is the nut stock ?
You have improved so much since your first build. As if the judges don't have enough headaches already !
Honestly mate, it plays better than my esp. I did the neck work but wasn't happy with it as it was my first go and was ultra cautious. Second time around the neck is flat as. The epi pups are actually pretty good. The bridge sounds huge distorted doing lead work and the bridge is less bassy, more mids and really clear. Very happy.
you will have to post a video Andrew of the beast in action !
Yeah mate will do. Any requests?
Just realised the photos of the head stock were of it with only one screw. All 3 are in now, just got excited when the cover went on and was still doing some truss adjustments. Should I post one with all screws or not to bother?
can't hurt Andrew, Gavmiester lost a GOTM because he didn't put the truss rod cover on, he was waiting for a customised one
Ok cool. I'll do it when I get home from work.
Andrew, you made an awesome guitar out of that kit, very nice job and a worthy contender
And here is a vid. Cab is miced with an sm57 into cubase. For the pup demo the guitar is dry, no eq or anything and for the pwd part, just highpassed and compressed slightly so it sits in the mix a bit better.
EDIT - uploaded the vid again with the correct audio channel activated

Ok...
After getting good vibes from all you guitarlovers during my build I enter my first guitarkit...
I took a look at the entries and i'm feeling not so sure bout entering anymore...
But the space has to be filled right?
My kit is an ES-2V
Used Chestnut spirit stain yellow over red and finished it off with 5 layers of Danish oil and a 3 superthin layers of Chestnut hardwax oil...
Tried to get a crack of burst-like thing inspired by the colour of classical instruments.
Hardware gold upgrade kit
Covers homemade with some padouk and 0.8 copper wire
I call it my "less Dave"
Less as in lesser ;)

Dave, that looks so good, with some very nice custom touches, very worthy of being in the GOTM lineup
That's stunning mate. Those small details set it of so good.
So happy with how this came out.
All stock pitbull chrome parts (shiny bits I didn't use on my SG build)
The only parts that aren't stock are the switch and pickguard.
this was my first attempt at using colored stains and doing bursts and all that stuff.

That thing. That's just incredible.
Oh...wauw man...
That thing is indeed incredible...
That looks so slick...
And the burst above the f hole... I likes it
Classy!! Love the way that grain has come up on the back of the guitar
wow I'm blown away Dave and Mick at the ES2V and ES, well done fellas, the quality of builds 'somehow' keeps improving. Feel for the headaches the judges will have this month !
Looks fantastic Mick. Are the reversed tuners intentional?
G'day, Wayne here, my entry for the month, might as well throw a TL-1A alder tele into the equation. Front is FW golden teak, back sides FW oak/cedar blend and camphor veneer on the headstock. You could say the colours are pretty well Hawthorn colours, what a one sided AFL grand final

my entry for the month, ST-1 with FW old baltic stain. changed to black pickguard, knobs, pup covers and trem cover. Its a simple look but it plays and sounds pretty good. Didn't want to enter my ace this month as the standard of entries is ridiculous !
