no photos Andrew, they are probably too large to upload from your phone.
Leave it till later no hurry.
The epi pups should be about the same dimensions as the stock pups
The photo is only 500k though... Weird. I get a lot of syntax error 500 as well whatever that means.
Andrew I will check when i get home but I think i might have two from the es335 Im currently doing as replaced with gold surrounds. If so i have guys going out to Broadies all the time and can possibly drop in Moranbah.
Tony I think the ES kits come with cream surrounds, Andrew will need black ones for this kit
Hi Wokka, no definitely black just went back and had a look at my build diary. Just gotta look if they are arched or not.
Mate thanks for the offer hey. I'll try to file the shape out but if it goes tits up I'll definitely take you up on that. Thanks again.
no worries Tony my ES was an earlier model had cream surrounds. Pretty sure they are arched for the ES model, the top is arched.
Hey Andrew, since you are getting a syntax error, it might be that the PBG techs haven't quite ironed out all the problems from this morning yet. I'm adding a picture to my next post to see if I can get it to work.
UPDATE
Won't let me post through a reply attachment either.
Embedded imgur images still work though:

Clear acrylic coat to seal her up, practicing bursts with the new air brush. About to lay the first pass of the burst on the guitar. Nervous now.

I wouldn't even do a burst man. That top is just so so gorgeous. I wish I could work with spalted maple but I've got a compromised immune system. Risk/reward isn't worth it for me.
That sucks man. Even with a respirator and long clothing will you still have issues?
And it's too late haha. Burst is done. Paint is still a bit damp hence the shiny spots.

Besides, kind of needed that solid edge to mask the veneer chip bogged with black timber mate.
Not necessarily but like I said it's a big risk. :\\
Burst looks good mate!
looks good the burst Andrew, you might need a bit more black paint to hide the filled chip area. Nice use of the PBG box to do a dummy burst run !
Haha yeah. The many uses for the pbg box. My wife used the other half for something as well. Going to fill the gap with some super glue when the black dries. I'll shoot another pass over the area to level the colour out then I'll clear this one and the candycaster tomorrow.

Holy moly, that looks awesome!
I'm in the same boat as Nick, and would have liked it au naturale. But it is a clever way to hide the chip, whilst still keeping it looking schweet! Can't believe the 3D effect you've achieved on top... Looks pro level. Gun certainly beats can. :P
This is going to be one very, very nice axe man.
Thanks man. The grain is just ebony timber mate and fw black sanded right back. The sides are with black acrylic in an airbrush. Amazing what a knob like me can knock out with the right gear. Lesson learnt, if the jobs worth doing, get the right tools.
Yeah man. I wish I had been able to get a $200 gun kit. I could afford that. Can't afford a $500 kit. :P
Very, very jealous of your bargain.
With ya now. Just keep an eye out. They always have some decent specials hey.
Binding is scraped on the body and neck, came out pretty good for my first try. Clears tomorrow!

Top notch andrew, stunning results
This has come out really well. Good job.
Thanks guys. Quick question. How many clear coats is enough? I'm not going too heavy, 4 on so far.
Pretty happy so far. Will leave it at 6 coats of clear and let it cure up now.

http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...d-IMAG0637.jpg
Andrew, what clear are you spraying ? acrylic ? If you have applied 4 I'd let it cure for couple of weeks and give it a polish and see how it looks and see how hard and thick the coat looks. Generally if it looks thick enough it should be ok. The more coats you put on the more you will kill the natural tone of the timber
Hey mate, nah I'm using 2k clear. The tds for it reckons 12 hours curing til its sandable which is pretty cool. No more waiting around for ages to get the polishing going.
Going on a pic upload rampage for this and the Tele.

looking good Andrew,
soon you will have 3 builds on the go, then 4, then 5...................... haha
Yeah I'll be starting a stock ib7 in a few weeks then the custom should arrive in October. Maybe on Sunday during that sale if a 5 string bass comes up at a good price I'll be adding that as well.
With great sadness I bring you this post. When I was painting the clears I noticed a few uneven raises bits on the sides of the body and the back of the neck and head stock. After knocking them back with wet dry last night I found out they are pin holes. The front of the body is unharmed. My only guess as to why is that the 2k clear hates stains as a substrate. My reason for suspecting this is I put down 2 fine coats of rattle can acrylic clear over the top as a sealer before I did the burst.
The paint ratios are the same as the Tele, same gun, same settings, same pressure, sprayed at the same time and the Tele turned out epic save for a bit of orange peek.
Next step is to get the 240 out and start again. Yay. This time I'll be sealing it up before the 2k goes on.
Sad part is when I bought the lle fw stains the hardware shop rang the rep to order it. I asked him myself if the stain was able to have 2k clears over it and what drying time would I need to give it. He said next day and no dramas, would work fine. Unhappy but not the end of the world.
bummer Andrew, there's too many things that can go wrong mixing paints, oh well more sanding practice and lesson learnt !
