Thanks Gav, it was yours and Andy's Juniors that inspired me to make mine. Let's be honest, who would make a Junior kit when big brother LP is available. But after seeing yours I thought, how beautiful, I gotta have one of those.Quote:

A stunner Robin. I love my JR1-DC - it's my go to instrument at the moment - and yours looks even better. How are you enjoying playing it?
cheers,
Gav.
I find that my latest guitar is always my "go to" guitar. And the Jr is no exception. I love playing it, and with the cuts I put in it, it is the most comfortable guitar that I have. I love it.
The only "outings" it will get will be when I play it at church. It will be interesting to see how I can tame it, and soften it, for the soft stuff, but it will rock when the overdrive is unleashed, can't wait.
Cheers mate

Thanks Jarrod, not to the standard of your high gloss masterpieces, but I'm happy with it.Quote:

looks awesome Jarrod, well done, is this the body in your videos ?
the reflection of the top looks like its got flames on the top half !
How does the tonerider rock song pup sound ? I ordered a pair for my scratchy
Yup that's the beast in the Vid Wokks.
The Rocksongs are actually my favorite , they have a very warm bluesy tone that gives the TLA a very LP sound through my valve amp. I truly cant say enough about these pup's.
excellent news Jarrod, I like a warm bluesy pup. My PBG order should arrive tomoz so I got plenty of work ahead of me !
We'll have to tee up a visit to your man cave next few weeks with DB !
absolutely bro
So Jarrod, this was the TLA-1 I loaned to you, right? I should make a time to come and collect it.

Yerrrrrrrrrrrrr No
Man it is starting to look like the custom shop pages of major guitar brand websites in GOTM.
The quality of these builds is insanely good.
That's beautiful Jarrod, what a great finish.

Thanks Rob
This is my entry for GOTM May, STA-1 ash body. Body finished in jarrah stain and burning sun burst. Neck finished in burning sun. Camphor veneer glued to headstock and finished in the same burst colours as the body.
Upgrades are as below:
black HSH pickguard
black tremelo cover
gold bridge, jack plate, neck plate, tuners, string trees, whammy bar, strap pins
It plays and sounds pretty good, happy with the results. This is a build I finished couple of months ago, I've got a backlog of entries for GOTM

Nice wokks, what brand tunners , bridge and pups etc....
Stunner Wokks - meant what I said 'bout you being the king of bursts.
cheers fellas,
@ Jarrod, the gold hardware is from ebay and its an ebay loaded HSH pickguard, I'll upgrade the pups down the track but they still sound pretty good
Mate you really are king of the ragged burst. Looks like you got some nice grain too.
I'm just back from a week in Tassie where I didn't have internet access for most of the time. And when I come back, look what has been posted. Man! There are so many gorgeous builds being posted here that I can't think of enough superlatives to go around. They all look excellent guys!
That burst is just beautiful Wokka! Amazing job man.
cheers,
Gav.
Wow wokka that thing is beautiful! You are truly the king of bursts!
cheers Gav and Pest,
bursting is just practice. Like anything with building axes !
Another great collection to choose from this month. As I am realising, it must be a difficult decision for the judges.
Hi all,
Well I finally got my truss rod cover and a sunny day for pictures so I am finally entering my Dream Catcher LP 1.
This is my first build and I decided to keep everything stock to see how it sounds.
I painted the back and sides in metallic blue acrylic spray paint and I used acrylic artist ink to do the burst on the front. I chose turquoise and aqua marine blue for the burst with some black to accentuate the grain.
I even attempted making my own waterslide decals for the headstock. I had a blast with this build. Such a satisfying experience.
Enjoy, I know I am :D

Here are the headstock pics for Dream Catcher
The truss rod cover is suppose to say BBG for Brian Ball Guitars. The font I chose has a very similar looking G and C.
Cheers,
Brian

How does it sound and play ?
Sweet stuff Brian, nice gloss blue!
So you live in Canada Brian ? That should be far enough away from the Pest aka Les Paul napper !

@ Brian - Lovely looking guitar mate, that blue is just gorgeous.
@ Brendan - Oi Brendan, nothing humble about that offering. Looks great mate, classic bass, classic colour. Love it.
Cheers
rob
Am pretty stoked with how it came out. Loving the satin look at the moment...
Hey thanks guys,
I can't seem to put the guitar down.
That's a beautiful bass Brendan. Love the natural look.
Cheers,
Brian
Nice vintage PB Brendan - the black 'guard gives it a nice contrast to the chrome and pale wood :-)
Noice one Brendan! Has the perfect contrast of finish and guard
nice VP-4 Brendan, it come up a treat, that black pickguard much better than the red pearloid one that came with the kit ! A bass seems to be sneaking in most GOTM comps these days !
