God damn BG, that's awesome. Another amazing burst! Love how it's turning out. Is it ready for clear now?
cheers,
Gav.
Yes it is, Gavin. Just need to scrape and steel the binding to clean it up, and then on goes the coats of Wudtone Extra Gloss with Ageing Tint.
Then the "fun" of wiring begins.... 8O
looks like a violin type finish - very good result
Binding scraped back and now ready for Wudtone top coats.

Nice work BG, excellent finish. We'll have to video this one when you're done.
First coat of Extra Gloss (Aging). First of many, I think...

Just realised the Crimson King has a doppelgänger: Trey Anastasio's main Langedouc guitar.

Hey Eliot. Doesn't it feel damn fine when you get to this stage. You can almost feel the strings under your fingers. Really looking forward to seeing the finished item!
Ready to enter the Valley Of Trepidation that is the wiring job...

Watching your build with interest - love the look of these hollow-body basses (but beyond my skill-set to attempt one)
Moment of truth #1- neck glued into place...

Beautiful work.
Beautiful DB. What did you end up doing about the tuners? Can't wait to hear the sound demo!
cheers,
Gav.
re the tuners, I have decided to keep the originals as you see- just for the exercise of seeing how/if they work.
There is a smidge of overhang from some of the mounting plates, but I have it in mind to grind these off at a later date.
looking classy BG and looks pretty close to wiring stage, you better be ready for counciling after the wiring !
Strung up and ready for wiring.
Couldn't resist having a plink, and wow! The acoustic sound is great- real twangy and louder than expected.
