Pity you had to hit the sander - crackle can look interesting (but I'm not game to give it a go myself!...)

80's hair-metal finish on a Dano! As a proud Dano owner, I say that is just wrong!
that's actually pretty rad... but unfortunately does not fall within my design brief. Anything less and I wouldn't be able to sleep at night... I've got some bad OCD unfortunately haha.
Mick if humidity is a problem for you in your area you need to purchase an infrared heater to fast dry acrylic clears. Soon as each coat goes on heat it up for 15 - 20 mins.
check out my thread here it may help http://www.pitbullguitars.com/?page_...wtopic&t=948.0
Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
I bit the bullet hard and stripped/sanded the body back to raw timber.
good news is.... I've got some grey primer on it! haha

love your pics Mick...
i got that déjà vu feeling spraying the flat black on here today....

Still, déjà vu or no, it's looking great (again)!
cheers,
Gav.
Hey Mick, I'm doing a satin black LP body - how are you keeping the minor blemishes off? You can't polish them out or it's not a satin finish anymore...
At this stage i'm just hoping the paint doesn't crack haha. If a minor blemish is all that I end up with this time I'll be over the moon :)

All stock electrics and upgraded hardware. I only upgraded hardware because I wanted all black :)
the silver components are going on my custom ES
Hopefully I'll start assembling this week!I'm just letting the paint cure before I go mucking around with it.
Lookin' sweet man, can't wait to see the finished product.
Yep - the SG looks killer from this angle. Can't wait to see the final product!!
cheers,
Gav.
yer looking good Mick, you keep us in suspense just showing the back of the axe, look forward to assembled pics
I threw a dash of class on the headstock today...

Zeromick, you're photos are fantastic. I feel like I'm exploring an art gallery when I visit this thread. Keep it up!
Lookin' beautiful Mick, this things gonna be epic!
Thanks Adam, that's one of the nicest comments I've had regarding my photos.
Cheers Bargeloobs... it's shaping up that way, I hope I can get a monstrous sound out of it as well.
No point looking epic if it can't bring the rock! haha
Dead right there!

Hopefully by the end of the week, I don't have my computer at the moment because it got a dirty big virus.
On a positive note, I plugged the SG in today and played some wonderful little jazz licks haha

So what pups are you running ?
Love the mods, so the recessed jack hole and only a volume and tone is it ?
love the simplicity of it, its all class, well done
Is that a sticker the white line around the headstock ?
cheers mate, stock pickups, 2 volumes and a 3 way switch.
The white around the headstock is some glossy paint :)
Wooo, looks the balls Mick, Wicked job!
some very nice shots Mick, glad to hear that it sounds as good as it looks
Nicely done Mick! Beautiful photography as well! Bar goes up again!
Amazing! Simple, sleek, beautiful.... Could just go on and on. Great work Mick.
Cheers guys, I know the 'color' photos are a bit anti-climatic seeing as it's a black and white guitar but thanks for all the kind words, It's a seriously nice playing/sounding guitar :)
That is truly spectacular. So many great touches on this one. Love the recessed jack and the trim on the headstock positively glows.
Michael how did you manage to do such a clean line with the black over the white paint? Wow!Quote:
