Andy - pure guitar PR0N. Glad I'm not entering a guitar this month...
Amazing build Andy. This is just a stunning guitar, period. I want it badly. Absolutely mind-blowing. Very glad I don't have an entry this month!!! Great job as always.
Cheers,
Gav.
Simply stunning Andy. Thats the type of work I aspire to.
Yet another knockout from Andy! Beautiful job- the finish suits the style perfectly.
Andy continuously astounded at the look and quality of your builds. Something I would love to have in my collection.
my entry for GOTM, IB-6S 6 string bass in wudtone amber spalted top and jarrah stain sides/back. Neck done in clear. Upgraded to pre-amp active system and MOP truss rod cover. Very happy with the results. Still trying to find time to get the neck set in

the necks on these kits are amazing so clear was a must. Best of luck to all entrants, as usual the standard is way high. Another tough one for the judges !

Hi, this is Wayne from 4D Guitars, this is my LP-1 entry, really enjoyed this build, front done in mild cherry flamenco, back started in burning sun but ended up mahogany suited better. Headstock slight sunburst with cherry and golden rod.

Nice job Wayne - love the top - the flame has popped nicely!
Amazing looking guitars there guys. The quality of builds in this community is outstanding.
@Wokka, @Wayne, amazing job guys. Another couple of brilliant entries. Your choices of finish perfectly bring out the beauty in these awesome maple caps. I know it is said every month, but this month is going to be impossible to judge. So glad I'm overseas and unable to enter ;). So, so glad.
Cheers,
Gav.
@ Wayne and Wokka
Two more beautiful entries from 4D, guys. Both of you have produced really classy guitars.
I love the back shot of the Bass Wokka, just gorgeous, and Wayne that LP is sooooooo classy.
Really like what you guys do with your natural timber looks. Great stuff.
@Gavinturner. I reckon the entrants this month are also glad you're overseas, Gav. The competition is fierce enough without one of yours being in the fight too ;-)
How's the beer drinking going? You full yet?
Nice job Wayne and Wokka! This GOTM will be very interesting...
terrific work to all this month
Apologies folks, I've been caught up in 50th Birthday celebrations and only just got a spare moment to organise judging for March GOTM. I'll contact the judges shortly and ask them to expedite their scores and comments so we can meet the usual deadline of 7 days into the new month.
I believe it may be your birthday Adam, if it is happy birthday mate and many happy returns, hope it was an enjoyable celebration !
Cheers Wokka, yes, I turned the big Hawaii 5-0 yesterday. 50 chronologically... and about 24 emotionally. I doubt that will ever change.
Happy birthday for yesterday Adam! :)
Also, congratulations to all those with entries this month. Another great month of builds.
So, you're a Pisces too huh Adam? My birthday was on Sunday (2nd) but I've got 7 years on you ya young 'un. Happy birthday!
Lots of stunning guitars again this month! Couple that deserve to win. That said, in the words of Christophe Lambert - "There can be only one!"
Happy 50th Adam for yesterday, hope you celebrated it in style.
I also turn the big 5-0 later this year....1964 was a very good year!!
Cheers, all the best.
Andy
Hey Ads, happy birthday to you! Even at your age, Pit Bull Guitars is still growing!
Also big Happy Birthday to Lozza last Sunday 2nd, hope it was a good day mate !
Also good luck to the judges, going to be another tough decision !
Wholly crap theres some nice axes there. Wokka that dam bass is something else man, you must be a proud man.
Hey good people, sorry for the delay.
Results are in for Pit Bull Guitars March Guitar of the Month Competition.
Only six entries for this month but boy was it tough to judge.
Here we go...
First Runner Up
Danielsan's BC-1
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...4-IMG_0930.JPG
"This is a very well turned out Axe. I must swallow my predjudice against BC style guitars and mark this on it's merits. The paint work is very good! And you have chosen a really nice colour.
I actually struggled to find any visual faults with this build and in the end I had to get really nit picky and knock off one point for a few areas that needed a bit more sanding and the ever so slight imperfection on the upper GT stripe paint work. Keep up the good work."
"Love that colour! I don't usually like pointy guitars, but the colour transcends my preferences. Very well put together, a quality build through and through."
"Perfect colour choice with the GT stripes. Very well executed. Hard to find any faults."
Second Runner Up
Wokka's IB-6
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...Wokka-IB-6.jpg
"Wokka, they just keep getting better! I will be around soon to pick this beastie up :)
Again I struggled to find fault with this build and in the end I had to get extremely anal and knock off half a point for the 4D logo being slightly obscured by the hardware."
"Wokka is proving himself a skilled hand at these kits. This one is a testament to that. A lot of time and care has gone into the crafting of this bass and it shows. Top notch."
"Wokka, dude! The naughty room is doing you good. This should (have) be(en) guitar of the month for me because it is just WOW!"
One of the great joys of watching this small business grow is watching blokes like Wokka grow in their talent and skill at building guitars. Wokka was building pretty good guitars when we first met him, but this is a whole other level. Makes me want to play bass again."
And the Winner is...
Andyport's Paisley JM-1
http://www.pitbullguitars.com/wp-con...pf58d-Arty.jpg
"What can I say other than this Guitar gave me the urge to play a King Crimson album really loud and to break out the tie dye Tshirt and flares! If this classic beauty was hanging on the rack in any Music shop there would be a crowd of dribbling Guitarists hovering around it!"
"Absolutely sensational, a thing of beauty."
"Now, silverburst paisley is not something I would have ever dreamed of, but WOW!! This has to be one of the best looking guitars this site has produced. Stunning. I would step over my grandmother to get at this thing."
"This has "%$&^-Me" factor...forget "Wow" factor - Just when you think that it would be difficult for Andy to do better he does THIS!"
"Andy, you're supposed to be making the guitar of your dreams, not mine!"
Congratulations Andy, you actually scored a faultless 50 out of 50... that's 10/10 from 5 judges... a Pit Bull Guitars first. And, I have to add, the Facebook "Likes" were with the judges... 70+ likes which doesn't sound a lot, but is a bit of a record for PBG. Well done mate, please keep it up.
Well done everyone who entered this month.
Andy, well done once again! Thank you for gracing our humble comp with this gem of a guitar. Thoroughly deserved and aspirational and inspiring work.
Spot on choices, judges! Congrats again Andy!
Just figured that Andy has won 4 times! Wow! Surely he should receive a special token of recognition if/when he gets win #5....
really nice axes guy's and well done Andy a very deserved win. Wokka Your Bass belongs in my collection, it really is a thing of beauty . Danielsan what a great build and great looking colours . To the rest of the entries absolutely fantastic work . I think we should all go into a competition with other websites customers because we produce some dam nice guitars in the Pit Bull family.
Well done Andy - it's spot on! Eliot - its a when not if...
This month was the hardest to judge yet! If next month is a repeat of this month I am going to run away and hide!
Well done to all of you, I am impressed by the quality of these builds.
Far out...thanks guys for your lovely and very humbling comments.
Big thanks to the judges, you really do have a difficult job each month.
Congrats to Wokka, Daniel and all entrants.
I am really proud of this one.
Probably more for the fact that this one was a bit different and I had to work out how to tackle each step of the build and come up with solutions. But that really is the joy of guitar building and why we do it.
This guitar seems to have opened up doors for me, with a few enquiries of interest.
So, what to do for my next build? I really don't know....but hey, what a dilemma!!
Cheers
Andy
Wow. What an insanely difficult job it must have been to come up with a winner. All entries looked pretty cool to me and there were offerings from so many different styles.
Congratulations (again) to Andy for pole position but just as sincere congratulations to Dan, Wokka and all other entrants who were prepared to show off their builds.
The standard in the GOTM comp is getting so high that I'm feeling a bit intimidated to enter. But I will ;-)

All fabulous looking guitars this month, but the paisley design on the JM kit really did it for me and obviously many others.
Congrats Andy on winning with a unique and beautiful guitar, and congratulations to all other entrants on the great builds you entered.
Much like Lawry said, the standard is getting so high its a bit intimidating.
Cheers
Darren
Congrats to Andy and the runners-up. All the builds this month were amazing - any other month and each of them could easily have won. Well done all.
cheers,
Gav.
Another fantastic month of awesome guitars. Congrats to all.
The quality is getting way out there.
Congratulations to all of you. And Andy, 4 from 4! Too many stunning guitars coming through this site.
Congratulations Andy and to all other entrants. As everyone said the standard keeps getting better, to win these days you have to pull off above an amazing build. You really have to think outside the box and build something different to win.
Well done to all the judges for another tough month.
Bring on April GOTM and we will all be up against the Pest's ST-1 !
