Not going neck thru?
Not on this one Brendan.... but stay tuned because there is a possibility of a neck through on the Jaguar VI..
looking good DB, are you going to cut out the shape on Gav's flash new bandsaw ?
the body shape only just fits - thats good little wastage for the next Jag VI !
Where's my Custom LP???? haha!!!!!
My wiring is complicated, if you dare to try it DB!!!
nah Pest, LP wiring is a piece of cake. Once you have buit an ES kit you can wire any other PBG kit blindfolded !Quote:

cheers Gav, looks orsome, how does it cut ?
expected it would cost more than $980 without the discount
which supplier was that from ? we might wait for the WA wood show is in early August we picked up our current bandsaw and got a good price.
don't worry Gav I found the supplier, its only $891 inc GST, sounds like a bargain.

sorry for hijacking your thread DB but big woodwork machines deserve a good wrap !
Was due to arrive yesterday, but didn't. Phone Hare and Forbes today to find out where it is. They don't know...They called the delivery service and they don't know....Starting to suspect DB may have intercepted my shipment... :) :p just kidding...put the pliers down...DB!Quote:

So when it finally arrives we will be able to try it out , but according to the info. I got it works extremely well with guitar body shaping...and that was pretty much all I want! Have invited Phil to bring his guitar bodies around this weekend to give it a run. I have some Adirondack braces to cut. Very soft wood, so I don't expect that this will be any problem for the 2HP motor this thing has!
...might also be worthwhile putting an ambo service on call in the driveway when we fire it up! Visions of Tim Allen come to mind of this potentially being 'overkill'!
Yes Gav, ambo services should be a safe option!!!
Yeah! I paid $801-90 for the Band Saw but the sales slip showed a much higher figure because someone added a Bobbin Sander as well as a whole bunch of other cool stuff.....Quote:

...that's my story and I'm sticking to it, I really should have heeded DB's warning and made sure I was supervised when I went in to Hare and Forbes.

meanwhile at the DB man cave he is making his 1st cut of his baritone Jag body with a bright blue new bandsaw ! haha
Wish that this was true Wokka, regrettably no-one seems to know what has happened and short of making a bunch of excuses and blaming the delivery service Hare and Forbes don't seem to appreciate that this level of "F-All customer service" is not the way to endear themselves to a first-time customer....
Still no real confidence in the delivery company, TOLL IPEC, they have outright lied to me and Hare and Forbes since Wednesday. they claimed to have left messages for me and that I hadnt returned their call, then they claimed they didnt have any contact details for me and that was why they hadn't called. so here's my official verdict on them...
Toll Ipec - you suck! i have more faith in Julia Gillard being honest than your staff that I dealt with!
your joking Gav that really sucks, bet you and DB were hanging to try it out over the weekend with DB's scratch Bari-Jag.
Make sure when it does arrive it comes in an unopened box and hasn't been tampered with !
If It's ok myself and Wayne would like to come to your man cave and meet you and check it out maybe following weekend
No problem at all. DB and i are going to laugh of this weekend. Already it is past 5pm and I was promised they'd already have been here. We will have a Pit bull meeting next week!Quote:

EDIT: at 6:15 it finally arrived! Two boxes, but one box was broken open.....i wonder what is missing?
OOOooohhhh - looks like someone's got a busy weekend.... If there's a PB meeting on next weekend - room for one more? Still to meet the 4D guys...
No worries Brendan!
Sounds good fellas, glad it finally came Gav, I'm checking when Wayne is free but can we pencil in 3pm Sunday (tomoorow) at Gav's, does that suit you Gav and Brendan ? WE're meeting up at DB's 11am he's gonna fret level the 2 charity strats with his flash new fret leveller.
WIll bring up some beers. WIll need you address please Gav, can you please email it to wokkaboy@gmail.com ?

Cheers
Hi guys, next weekend is better. Wife is coming back sometime tomorrow afternoon from her walk in the wilds and I have to collect her. At this point I don't know what time she will be arriving so hard to plan. Happy to aim for 3pm next Sunday?
Set up the Bandsaw after dropping the wife off.....have already fired it up and working on a few acoustic bracing sets!Quote:

Allrighty then... Time to get back on track :)
Template time!
First up, I cut the shape out of a 8mm ply sheet then dress it up on the bobbin sander.
Then I soak the edges with thin super glue to get them nice and hard and durable, after this I clean the profile up with my trusty Razor files and sand paper. (all of this was done whilst being supervised by the work shop quality control officer, who decided it was all too boring and needed a nanna nap)
http://pitbullguitars.com/wp-content...x-IMG_1707.JPG
The next step will be to cut out the pup rout holes.... once I have decided what I am going to load this baby with... 'Buckers or singles...Hmmmmm..
Then I made a new Neck profile template, this time I have added the length for a Baritone as well.
You can see that I have modified a two way truss rod for the Bari neck.
As Bari's are between a Guitar and Bass scale, neither truss rod size fits, so I just had to mod a Bass truss to suit.

The last pic is a close up showing both Bass and Baritone neck lengths.
http://pitbullguitars.com/wp-content...2-IMG_1709.JPG
Yes, yes, yes.....and then??????
And then I retired to the lounge room and poured myself a large American Honey and posted today's efforts....
Sounds great! See you next Sunday. Can you email me the address?Quote:

Today I finally finished the template / routing jig.
Going for an EMG HZ for the bridge and a Golden Age hot wound single at the neck.

Will be installing a Babicz Full Contact TOM bridge and Steinberger Machine Heads on this build.
My good buddy Mr Tim, extreme metal sculptor, welded the end on my cut down Bass truss rod.

Steinberger tuners?? I can't wait.
Here they are Bassguy.
40:1 gearless wonders from Mr Steinberger...

Nope, Wild Turkey Bourbon infused with Honey... Much nicer than Venus but not quite as nice as Debbie Harry :)
