Successful neck pocket surgery this morning. Just need to square off the back of the DC pocket as the heel is square not curved and then is should slide into place perfectly.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ad059cbe75.jpg

Well done on the pockets. That blond neck is awesome looking. Is it maple? The striping is really cool.
Full re-fret & refinish?Quote:
Someone gave it to me ages ago and I re did it a while back.
Nah, not me. I'm happy just re-fretting factory necks! I don't ever see a scratch neck coming out of my shed!
I've done re-radius and re-fret plenty. I've got one spare maple neck that needs that treatment now for a potential build. Now we're coming into some cooler weather, I'll get more motivated. I don't bother spraying in Queensland summer.
Mmmmm, that DC. That DC is giving me bad ideas. Lovely work BD.
Damn! I’ve got to lift my game. Nice work BD, nice work.
Ooh, just catching up with this thread. Nice work BD. I especially like that Tele and that neck is gorgeous.
Going to keep an eye on these builds.

Have to say, those bodies look great, can't wait to see them after the finishing has been applied.
Rear Tele control cavity and another neck pocket done today. May have also prepped up another floor board single cut [emoji3526]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...af5756dfd7.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...03986f1f0b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fb6222ca93.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...aa8a41966a.jpg

Looking good BD.
Cavities now routed on these 2 bolt on babies.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2d3e0a0858.jpg
Looking good! What's the body weight on those now, if you don't mind me asking?

Good question dude. Although lighter with all cavities hollowed I'll have to check on the scales for you. Pine significantly lighter than the Tassie oak though as you would have guessed.
I'm taking a punt...
2.7kg with the pine
3.2kg with the tassie
And, do I win a guitar if I guessed right????
And they lived happily ever after....
Slow and steady progress..round overs and neck screw ferrule positions.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e93ec7f3b2.jpg
String thru musings and DC scratch plate rough fernanglinghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c67c6f6987.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...93f3445ddb.jpg
What method did you use for the string-through? Or do you have a drill press? I don't remember...
Looks pretty tidy!
Cher bro! I do have a DP but I still employ the half each side method. Position the bridge, either screw in or double sided tape down. Do the outer 2 holes right through with Brad point tip. Then the other 4 holes half way. Flip 'er over and align the bridge with the outer 2 holes and double sided tape down. Before I drill the other halves of the 4 holes on the rear, i use the Brad point as a punch for insurance that it will take straight and minimise wander.
Yep, nice and tidy.
Also liking the cheeky shot in the background with the mounting rings in place.
