I have the same Wilkinson bridge on my HH Tele, it doesn't sound very Tele like with the 1970s Schaller buckers

Looks great DK.
Hey guys. Just saw this. Binding has separated slightly. Never had this before
Anyone got any other recommendations other than glue and clamphttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4b87d3b22e.jpg

I've mounted a Guitar Fetish tele bridge pickup in a humbucker hole with an adaptor ring on a Westone Spectrum and - to my ears, at least! - it sounds perfectly tele-ish, though I'm no tele expert!
The rings I bought were plastic ones for the job, though I used the bridge ring as a template to make a steel one because I thought exactly as DK said, that the pickup mounted in steel rather than wood or anything else was an integral part of the sound.
You could try heating it with a hair dryer to soften it up a bit, but the glue and clamp. ;-D
It looks rather like it really doesn't want to be flat and that it's likely to want to spring out again, if not there, then right next to that point if you force it back down.
I might try and cut the binding in half, sand the ends until the two end just touch when pressed into place, then use acetone to stick the binding back and weld the ends together.
Or I might use superglue in the gap and then use lots of string round the body to squash it all flat.
In reality I'd probably just swear a lot and go and do something else instead.
That’s disappointing. I was really impressed with the build quality of my “A” series ST kit.
