Looking good there Kari!
Gotta love another Explorer Bass build.
I used a special black conductive paint in the cavities which ends up a matt finish. Works well and did a good job of hiding the edges where pickups did not fully fill the cavity.
Being humbuckers you don't really need to bother with copper tape anywhere other than in the controls cavity.

2nd layer of color added and neck linked to body. Is neck should be like that? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6b532bb108.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...a29491115e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...243e862d77.jpg

Looks ok even though where neck joins body appears high as that is the same as on my EX5.

I will measure mine later tonight and let you know.

What tends to happen on bolt-on versions of set-neck guitars is that you don't have enough thickness of wood to keep the same neck angle and height above the body, without making either the neck, or the body cutaway for the neck, too thin for a solid, safe joint. So the neck angle (which on the set-neck will give you the required string height above the body at the bridge) is decreased or removed completely, and the required string height at the bridge obtained by having the fretboard sit higher above the body - which allows for a solid neck and heel joint.
Here are the photos that I promised....

It measures 9.5mm to the crown of each of those last few frets. Action is still a little bit high but no more than 1mm and wouldn't recommend sanding base of neck pocket to drop such a small amount. On my 2 Tele builds they needed between 5mm - 7mm to be sanded off to drop the level and also help get action down low enough.
