I stand corrected. Waz is right. Looked it up and Bamboo has about the same density as basswood but is considerably harder. Light and stuff should make it great for guitars.

It is an intriguing possibilty, how would a bamboo fretboard feel? Inquiring minds want to know!
Again, I think this would depend on how it was prepared. Go to your local supermarket and find a bamboo cutting board, they are pretty dense and smooth.Quote:

Probably would be O.K. as long it's not exposed to water.
Saxophone reeds have been made from bamboo for years...and as they are constantly exposed to moisture,
they don't last very long.

Stencil a Tele shape on that, get the bandsaw out and you're good to go. :)
33 mm might be just a wee bit too thin, particularly when factoring in screws to hold down a bolt on neck. Otherwise it look ready made for shaping and at a decent price too.Quote:
