The guitar is clear coated. Although, I will have to do the satin clear on the neck again. A couple of small pit of clear came of on the back of the head and on the first fret. Once I fix that, I'll sand the guitar back and polish it for a better mirror finish.

It looks like you managed to clear the satin off the faux binding. All looking great!

Don't forget to give it a couple of weeks for the finish to harden after spraying before polishing. It's worth waiting as it does make a big difference.

Thanks Simon. I’ve been taking it out in the sun on good days to help with the curing too. I’ve done that on a few cars. Thinking of leaving it a few days after sanding it back, to help solvents escape more as well. Just another thing to help get that glossy mirror finish.

This is going to be a beautiful guitar.

My thinking exactly. You are creating a lot more surface area by sanding back, which should encourage quicker evaporation of the solvents.

Hi all, been a long time since my last post. but here is my progress on the IB7. I've sanded and polished the clear coat and it's looking like glass. I've also blocked the frets so they are all level. Just need to file and sand them. Is there anything else I need to do to the frets? I've also copper sheilded, and was wondering when I do the wiring do you solder the wire to the copper? Thourght I'd seen that mentioned on another post. Any feed back would be appreciated. Cheers in advanced.
