Routed the rear of the body to take one of the nameplates that Pabs made and smoothed the neck down to near finished. Dilemma now is what colour stain to do the body to match the front and not be lighter than the natural blackwood neck.

Bit more work on Wednesday got the fretboard radiused and slotted fully and did the side dots. Installed the frets and did a quick mock build. Starting to come together.
Wow, this is amazing!! Really quality work on the build and I love the finish, is it stenciled?
Very cool build
This is looking fab, can't wait to see the finished product.
Chasing some advice forumites.
Am hoping to start finishing the body today but am stuck in several minds about the colour due to the darker neck and front of guitar. I am unsure wether to go natural (tru oil) which will end up lighter than the neck or darker so the neck is lighter. And then there is the whole but the tops dark how will it look with a light body.
Any Opinions?
Hi Tony, if mine I would try and match body to the neck colour and clear coat or Tru Oil from there.
Tele necks are normally a different colour to the body regardless of the body finish. If it was a set neck, then yes, I'd try and match the colours, but for a bolt-on, I don't think it's necessary at all.
This is just a personal preference, but I think it usually looks better when the body is darker than the neck. I'm quite happy for other to disagree with me.
Let the wood speak for itself mate, I think the dark neck works.
