that's pretty cool, have been looking at their stuff too - what did they sting you for postage?
very interested in how the Trem goes, I'm planning a Surfmaster with a Bigsby but I'm always interested in things "a bit different"
Very interested to hear how you're going with the trem too. I ordered the same trem in gold today for my SG before I saw it on your build diary... :-)
Yep will definitely update on the trem situation when it's all together. I don't suspect there will be any tuning problems with roller saddles and locking tuners, but I am curious about the feel in comparison. My Gretsch does have a Bigsby so I will be able to directly compare that too :)
Stan - $148 US for postage
And my order was USD26.85 shipping w insurance for USD83.90 of parts (the trem plus a gold roller bridge).
The price of living 'down under'...

That's a realistic good price for postage.
Last night I cut away part of the pickguard. What I realised was that it was actually the bridge post holes that were in the wrong spot, so I cut the guard back around them, so now it will fit fine. I do still plan to cut a Pearl white version later, but I have no money to spare currently.

And on the body

I also glued the couple of Maple veneers on the heel of the neck, to make it a touch wider

And one under the nut to raise it up just a touch.

So today I'll be cleaning up those veneers, and hopefully getting the first coat of oil down.
Cool. Interested to see how those gold foils go. Love the look of them.
Hey B'Lark, would have been better to glue the veneers to the sides of the neck pocket and trim at the top of body.
See if you can trim the veneer on the neck heel at body height so it's all the same maple look.
How does the scale length to the bridge saddles work out with the Bigsby ?
