Ha ha you guys are great. You really put a nice light twist on it. No wait, that's just the beer. I've learned so much so far. If I stay patient and careful I'll come up with some totally off the wall repairiment. It's actually more fun than a day off to go see the doctor. I still think I'd rather do some uncharted technique than the bog standard ink stain and true oil.

I think most on the forum can relate Greg, we've all got a finish fail story (or two) lurking in the threads somewhere.
Will you reprise the Silver burst or are you going to do something else?

This just in.. I have repaired the silverburst. Video in a few days to follow I guess.

wow can't wait to see the outcome, and see how...

Loved the vid Greg. Gotta be happy with that silver burst and the upgrades you've put in.

Thanks everybody. We did this build because my son Jackson has always had limited choices being a southpaw. Just a note to anyone interested. This guitar really rings acoustically, much more than my Gibsons. I put that down to using 24hr epoxy to set the neck. It sets hard not like cheesey PVA glue. I advise anyone doing solid colours to use acrylic urethane or nitrocellulose lacquer. Oil base enamel cannot be coated over without a PHD in paint tech and oil base urethane clear coat is not easy to use. Cheers.
