That LP Junior is looking great, I like the effect you got with the TV yellow on the body.

now that is sweet jr body, you couldnt draw grain that straight.
coming along nicely Ponch, just keep putting on more coats and it will deepen to a nice yellow
Cheers Woks, this is one of those pieces of timber that is a shame to cover too much. Tempted to stop at this point. I reckon a multi piece body spray painted would be better for a solid tv yellow or basswood base.

nah best leave the grain showing. Maybe one more coat of yellow and onto the naughty oil or spray nitro clear ?
So as I've posted elsewhere this is now a mahogany stain Jnr! The change in stain really does compliment the underlying grain and colour of the wood.
This is stained with some red mahogany colortone I had to use up. and ... as I have the day off work one coat of naughty oil applied in the daylight. Warning - the FW mahogany you can see in the pic is good if you want, a) an almost black colour, an aubergine color or pink!
Looks like I have some tiger stripe flame going on in the neck! Maybe hard to see in these pics but more of the naughty stuff will bring it out..

And.. the machine heads have arrived. 3 on a plate Kluson with the white plastic buttons. This guitar has vintage sized holes and spaces so all fits well.

nice one Ponch that colour suits the 'hog' grain much better. Can't wait to see some clear coats on it
I think that darker stain is better suited... it shows grain that wasn't that obvious with the yellow stain... like the dark grain through the top bridge post, and on the top edge of the face.
wow that looks great
