Damn those pots look both tiny and lonely at the bottom of the chasm :D
A very good looking lump of tree though
cheers Dave.
Yeah they are the stock pots to see how it looks. I'll be upgrading to Bourns pots
spent a fair bit of time on this build over the weekend. Got the switch and control cavities recessed for the covers. Roughly shaped the headstock. Recessed neck screw holes for neck bushes. Had to recess the bridge and tailpiece as there is no break angle on the neck and the TOM bridges have to sit a bit lower. Drilled the bridge and tailpiece post holes. Also carved an elbow cut and started the tummy cut.
Here's how it looks did a mock build
more pics. I just ordered some goodies for the build from Realtone. A black toggle switch, black Gotoh tuners, zebra rock song pups, push pull pots, black neck screws and bushings and the treble bleed cap to try out.
thats looking nice, i like the rounding on the elbow cut. you doing anymore rounding off on teh rest of the edge of the body? i think it would look good if you did
Hi Ben cheers mate. Yes think I will round off all the edges should give it a nice touch. Needs a final sand and I think it's pretty well ready for stain. Not sure if I'll just leave it the natural colour
That cutaway looks weird to me. But I'm fairly conservative with guitar shapes. The rest of the work is up to your usual high standard.
cheers Fretty, I might round off the lower horn a bit. I was trying to add a different touch to the usual shape.
Looking great Wokks. That's a nice piece of timber you scored and I'm a big fan of your original shapes. Much better to create one-off than a copy of the big names IMO. Gonna look awesome with some finish on there.
cheers,
Gav.
