Pretty much exactly that. :)

nice one Pablo, good result. Sounds like the neck would have lifted out of the pocket when you put string tension on it.
Thats hilarious copper shielding in the neck pocket, thats taking shielding a little too far hhaaaha
Yeah, I'm kinda surprised it didn't. I reckon the copper prevented the glue from getting a hold and the tenon hasn't been masked or sanded so that wouldn't have helped either.
nah brahhh the shielding just improved the transfer to the body aayyyy
Haha! :)
But seriously, it's actually a big score that the shielding blocked the adhesion. I've seen some shocking set neck removals because the joints were simply so strong.
Have you decided on a colour yet mate?
Yeah man, it was scarily easy and it solves what I figured was going to be the trickiest part of this. Win.
I'm going to go for a wine red. Tried it before, turned a bit pink. Might try those ubeaut dyes.
Choice.
They are very strong. I don't think you'll have any trouble getting a proper red at all. Just don't dilute it too much. The blue on my IB was pretty much almost straight with just a tiny tiny touch of red.
