I did read that the guy who built Paul Stanley's tried a few ways - even getting a full mirror and hitting it with a Hammer ( fail) He eventually got the whole face of the body routed out to a 5 mm depth leaving a bit of wood and binding around the edge then cut the 3mm mirror. He also made the laying of the mirror uneven to give a better effect with the light ( i slightly laid mine uneven ) then after that he poured a clear resin / lacquer over it to protect it. I did read that this didn't work too well and Paul cut himself quite a few times on the edges. You can run you hands over mine no problems quite easy.

What a fantasic result. It is indeed a dazzler in more ways than one.
I rather thought that acrylic mirror would be the way to go, it's forgiving, light & safe to work.
I'm another one who'd love to see the detail of how you did the binding & grout . . .
