ok well done 3km cross country is good training. You got a decent pair of running shoes ? (these are as important as good pups for a good sounding axe !)
for a young fella like you I'd expect a time of about 26 mins or less for 5km, providing there aren't too many slow runners in front of you !
-
haha yer, my shoes are pretty good for me, I average about 1km/5mins so about 25-30 mins is what i am going for, i did cross country last week in 16 mins 42 seconds, so I'm shaping up to be pretty good time-wise!
BTW, my dad is doing it as well, he is gunna be slow as, I'm probably going to beat him by about 4.5km :P
-
yer ok well done, sounds like you will prepared enough for the run. You better tell your dad you will see him at the finish line ! so is your Dad below 50yo ? he's the one that needs to train !
-
yer, he needs to train like mad (he's only 36 :D ) I'm up against a family friend, who is an AMAZING swimmer and runner, he does 50 laps of a pool almost everyday, no way I can get past him!!!!!
-
ur joking ur old man is 36. Crikey thats like a very senior AFL players age he should be fit. You have been mowing the lawns too long for him !
He's probably below average age of the forum !
don't worry about beating your family friend, just run your own race at your pace
-
My pace is about 12km/h, which is actually pretty good, my stamina is good because of all the swimming ive done throughout my life, it all comes down to the temperature!!!!
Would be awesome of one or two forum members could make it down!!!
-
yes 12km/h pace is pretty good, about my pace. There about at least 4 or so forum members near Melbourne so with any luck you will get some support. Bit far for Perthites to come !
-
It would be good to be there in person, but all of us here in Perth will be cheering you on Pest :)
