Nerveracking moment 2: Glueing and cutting the veneer.
Never glued a veneer before. Watched a few videos, glad I got the gladwrap tip. But it seems kinda straightforward.

Cutting it was the real scary bit. It didn’t go perfectly but it went okay, few small bits split off up the top but one I could repair, and the other won’t matter too much. Overall, I am very pleased with the effect. Glad I went the flashy option.

Drilling the veneer went OK. Small tear out, but it’ll be covered under the washers thank god.
Made a little tross rod cover, wasn’t happy with how the grains sat together so veneered that too.
Got the bridge I ordered too, graphtech sonic 1 anyone tried their stuff?

That will be completely unique guitar when it's done. Nice creativity. Good work.
Bottle of Tru oil came in the post, so first coats went on the guitar, neck, veneer, pick guard and plate.mlooking good! The pickguard especially looks amazing.
First time using it for more than a wipe on neck finish, How long do people usually leave between coats?
Dries fairly quick. Tends to pong for weeks though.
cheers, Mark.
I tended to do one morning application and one evening application. Sometimes squeezed in a mid-day one if it felt dry.
