I wasn't sure about the purple tbh, but under the gold and with the black headstock that is looking hot. Makes me reconsider purple as a colour option.

Great progress Fred, the gold and purple looks great.
Tonight I installed the 2x humbuckers in the Seymour Duncan Triple Shot rings, glued the small circuit boards at the back of the pickups, and soldered the pickup wires to the boards terminals.
Had to translate SD wire colours into Tonerider colours, and be careful to inverse polarities between neck and bridge pickup... a bit hard after a couple Lagavulins... 😉
But job done. Pickups ready!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...518558e709.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...99dc3e3277.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...13dcf77787.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7e6027d5e2.jpg

And tried them to see how it's going to look... just because I could 😎
Still need to polish the body, clean up the fretboard and do the electronics. Almost there!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...13b9512f48.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e4e6788970.jpg

Hey Simon, on the instructions they advise to swap the wires on the circuit board for one of the pups so the switches can select the right coil when in single coil mode.
My understanding is that since North (slug) and South (screws) coils are physically inverted between neck and bridge (since the screw coil of each pup faces 'outside'), you have to swap the Start and Finish wires for each coil so the switches select the right coil when in single coil mode.
Hopefully it works the right way! :)
Yes, looks OK to me. Took a bit of working out but that should be fine.
It took me a fair bit of time to work it out too! :)
I've tested the switching with multimeter, and it works as expected to select each coil individually, or combine in series or parallel.
Worst case the switches won't select the right coil and I'll swap the wires around.
looks unreal Fred. So those small circuit boards make it easier to switch between single and double coil ? Trying to work out why you have left the full length of grey coated wire coiled under the pups ?
@wokkaboy: yep, the circuit board connects the pup 4 wires to the 2x tiny sliding switches on the face of the ring, and you then connect the black cable (2 wires + gd) to the guitar electronic as if it was a simple pup.
This gives 4x options: series, parallel, North coil or South coil depending on how you configure them. It looks cleaner than having switches visible on the guitar.
The pic shows the options:

Re cable length, I didn't want to cut the cable in case I want to change pup or remove the Triple shots... it's quite nicely coiled so doesn't add any depth to the pup... should be fine!
