So, taking JC's advice, I gave 'er a light once over with 800 today ready for final sprays:

Then I sprayed:

Got it silky smooth, with no blemishes on the front. The back has a bit of gunk in it, so debating whether it is worth the hassle to remove it though. One minor spot to fix on the bottom edge as well, then clears are done!
This beastie should be wired and playing within a few days too! Excited! :D

Thanks, everyone. :)
OK, advice time again please.
I'm setting about putting the bridge bushings in, but I'm very worried about cracking the finish as they seem way too tight.
I started one, to see how it would go, and this is the result:

I'm terrified to continue, because if I ruin this finish I've worked so hard on, I may just cry.
What's my best course of action, from those who have done this before?

Do you have a round file, give it a little tickle, not too much, just so it can get started a little easier. If you don't, try some 80 grit rolled up and sort of spin it around in the bridge holes. How long has the clears been drying for?
