LOL :) :). 8-)
Yeah the stock pups aren't a stardard size - neither humbucker nor mini-humbucker. I think the mounting screws are probably spaced for regular humbuckers, but the mounting rings and the routes for that matter are too small for regular humbuckers. Thought mini-humbuckers would fit (they almost do) so just need to re-make the pup surrounds and everything will be sweet!

yer ok, its always a gamble ordering parts online when the kit pups aren't a standard size.
What material you going to make the pup surrounds with ?
Hows the wipe on poly going, you started ?
PS just wheel a single seater sofa over the paint on the carpet and the missus won't see it ! haha

You should see my bedroom carpet after my Pollock phase :D

hi guys,
Well as many of you know from FB I've been struggling the last week with poly clear coats. The fails reached their obvious conclusion today and I gave up. The once vibrant paint job looked pretty damn ordinary. Oh well, I've resigned myself to a do-over with a simple satin finish.

Got half the paint off today with sandpaper and scraper. Still got most of the front to do. Will have to do it again from the ground up.
Bummer. Oh well I guess it's kinda like starting a new kit right? Right??
cheers,
Gav.

Yeah, know what you mean, after being happy with my first build, I quickly "put it away" when some of the notes were a little off and the 2 & 1st strings buzz when played open. checked the nut and found out that the string "T" for those strings need to be moved closer to the nut, not worth mentioning but I defently need it to be better so thinking of either repositioning the neck of the bridge. so thats a one day job.
I will be interested to see how the RC-1 turns out, when I'M FINISHED "Les Pauling" it may be one that I could attempt.

Woah! That's a shame. Are you going to re-pollock it? Or will you go for a more traditional finish?

@Rickmo: Yeah it's a great kit. I would recommend it to anyone!
@Fretty: Yeah i'll be going for the same again. I was really happy with the paint itself. Unfortunately the poly I used turned the whites yellow and dulled all the other colours. Looked terrible in the end. Will go for the same paint with a few coats of satin clear this time. No attempts to produce a mirror finish...
@Johnny: Yeah that's what I said..
cheers,
Gav.

@Nick: LOL. Unfortunately yes. It will be back better than ever I hope..
