At first glance I read fur coats and only on re-reading saw four coats haha.
OK Fred, back to the program now.....

Very cool build so far you got! I'm looking forward to seeing it finished! I intend on getting one of these SG models aswell, but a 12 string with 24 frets - and dye/stain it blue. I'll be using your post for reference!
The bevel on the guitar when you got it is more like the Epiphone SG's when they were being built in Korea (as are the positioning of the controls - Gibson's are more side-by-side rather than in a diamond-like thing, not unlike the Les Pauls. I have one). And I plan on strengthening the bevel on my kit when I get it as well. I have to admit I got excited when I saw you had done the same thing. Looks great! Definitely more Gibson like!
Cheers Greggo.
I've been busy slowly applying poly ro the guitar. 17 coat so far and still want to apply 10 to 12.
Quite happy so far.
The neck is done, i can now apply the decal and start clear coating the black headstock, but I tested the tuners and it's looking pretty nice.

Looking mighty fine to me.
@ Simon you will probably reach overlord status tonight so congrats mate, fastest overlord by a mile - 7 odd months !
I will If I keep posting a few one-line posts like this one! ;)
Loving your work Fred!
Great looking guitar so far, the gold really sets it off - the gloss is building up very nicely
Looks fantastic Fred! The reshaping and the colour both work really well. I've never been a huge fan of SG's, but those last few pics may have me changing my mind...
