Yeah @Brendan I'm thinking along the same lines. I think I will take off the masking for a while and see how I like it as is. Live with it so to speak.
cheers,
Gav.
I'm another vote for stopping now. It looks great.
Thanks Fretty!
+1 for the stop now vote, Gav.
It looks great as it is, it would be a shame to overdo it now.

I've decided to go against the flow., Gav. Bugger it.
Add a few more sploshes.. Load it up. Do your worst. And then if you done like it just use Control Z.
;-)
If you are at a point where you like it , and still like it after some time - leave it.
Looks great - good balance at the moment
Thanks guys. I've decided to leave the top and back as-is. Sorry @Lawry - I've lost my backup so unfortunately no undo is available 8-) . I'm not as happy with the amount of colour on the sides (i basically neglected it til now unfortunately) so I'm in the process of masking the front and flinging some more colour on the sides. After that all will be done!
cheers,
Gav.
hi guys,
Well, the Pollocking is finally complete. Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement during this experiment of mine. I love the way it's turned out - very psychadelic!

To be honest I can't stop going back to look at it. The 471 tape masked the side of the binding perfectly. The top of the binding is heavy with the plastic paint so I'm not sure whether to attempt a scrape or just leave it as is. The pessimist inside me is urging me to leave well enough alone.
Next step is the clear coats. Since the acrylic is plastic anyway, I'm thinking strongly abount Minwax wipe-on poly.
cheers,
Gav.
sides match in perfectly Gav, good job
