Yep basically. With sanding at key stages.

I'm doing a cherry mahogany GR-1SF, and unsure at this stage if I want to give it a glossy finish, and yours is making me lean towards doing it.
Hey Gav, what happened to the tremolo bridge you mentioned on page 1?
Hey guys,
A little more work today on the ash mosrite. I have decided to create adjustable pickguard mounts for the P90s. A bit late in the game for such changes but hey it's been that kind of build. I got some 20mm x 3mm aluminium bar and made some mounting plates, with holes drilled in the position of the existing P90 mounting screws. A couple of more holes and the P90s now mount like humbuckers to the underside of the scratchplate.
The only problem now is that the routes will need to be extended about 8mm to the left to accommodate the new mounting plates. A bit of a bugger given the nice gloss finish I have created ;). I think some cardboard taped down over the finish should protect it enough from the router. Only one way to find out!
cheers,
Gav.
top work Gav, cant wait to hear the P90 goodness
Tense moments coming up, Gav, with the extra routing! The cardboard should do the trick protecting the finish though.
Don't slip!
Hey guys,
Well the routing is done and finished. It's rough (I freehanded the whole thing with the trim router) but the pups fit and the scratchplate tells no tales. The cardboard worked well under the trim router.
Today I got the wiring done and shielded the cavity with snail tape. Tap test shows everything working as expected. Found that I'm missing a couple of tuner bushings and screws. I may have lost them somewhere along the line. Might need to steal a new set of tuners from the stack - the minister of finance has put a block on new hardware purchases for the short term ;).
Anyway she's coming together. It's been a uncooperative build all things considered, so I'll be glad to get her plugged in and over-driven.
cheers,
Gav.
A cracker of a build Gav, not long before you can blast those P90's!
