Strings are on. Everything lines up and it feels very solid. Still got a few things to do to get it playing properly, but so far it's looking good.
Phew!
Exciting indeed! Just sat down and had a bash, fretting out in a few spots but I haven't adjusted the bridge or truss yet. Sounds nice and loud acoustically, that's gotta be a good sign.
@Wokka, I've done a temporary one up in the meantime. If I get time I'll try to get it mostly together tonight and bang some pics up. :)
OOooooooooo.... well done Pabs, looks absolutely beautiful mate.
Thanks Nige.
Things left to do:
1. polish
2. cut and shape nut
3. set neck (brown trousers on standby)
4. final cut of pickguard and truss rod cover
5. electronics.
6. Setup
7. Rock out \\m/
Emailed the place I'm buying the pickguard blank (I need an oversized one) and got them to send me a replacement because after 42 days I still don't have it. Groan. I hope this one doesn't take long to get here.
nice, and should make Nov GOTM easily....
OMG Pabs, that's just gorgeous. Love it man. just love it. Can't wait for the sound test :) !
cheers,
Gav.
If nothing else, you have ended up with a beautiful bass. You've scared me off set-neck basses until I have more skills though.
Thanks guys.
@Fretworn, not gonna lie, it was tense there for a while. :)
