Looks good.
All it requires now is a decent set-up and it's ready to rock.
Thanks for everyone's help on this build!
The 3rd build is on the boat and on it's way from China. This time, a custom order which I am really looking forward to building. Everything I have learnt along the way with an experimental twist with the finish which should raise eyebrows and should work really well.
Stay tuned.
Chris
looks great Chris, is that an upgraded bridge and pups ?
No mate, stock Pitbull.
The only upgrade is the Pitbull Grover tuners, a better volume pot, a Switchcraft output jack, Tele style black output jack mount, Ebay Strat style volume knob and black locking strap pins. I have ditched the pick-up surrounds and direct mounted them. I am also about to fit a f rose headstock string bar thing that didn't come in the kit.
The 11th fret is a little high and the nut is too high. Once I check the and adjust the neck, I'll get it all sorted. In the meantime, it's all working and it's quite playable. I have a mate who lives around the corner who teaches and does set-ups. I just have to make a time with him to borrow his workshop and expertise to get it all sorted.
To mount the pick-ups I used some adhesive foam I bought from the green shed and stuck on the back of them, a couple of shorter wood screws and cut and sanded a couple of bits of wood to fill and glued in the routed holes.
I don't mind pickup surrounds but in this case I wanted to keep the EBMM look.
Chris
sounds good Chris sure it will play well after your buddy helps out
Thanks mate.
Wow, looks wonderful. Shouldn't that be a 'Tone' knob?!
Yeh, but the later Axis guitars went back to it being a volume, so I stuck with that. The EVH model had the switch in a different place too.
