What did you use for lube for the mesh pads Waz, I'm not far off heading down that road
Hi Dave, just plain water with a few drops of hand dishwashing detergent, not too much or suds go everywhere, but just enough to soften up the water. Similar thing like when women use conditioner on their hair and it seems to help clear the wet paper and mesh pads from the build up of crud.
Cheers, Waz
@ DrummerDude, Guvna & Stan - thanks for your kind comments and words of encouragement.
Thanks Waz, that's what I figured but thought it best to check
All good Dave. Yesterday's efforts took about 2 hours going from 4000, 6000, 8000 up to 12000 where most time was spent on the lower grade grits. I have used these pads on 5 builds now and the best results seem to be go all out on the one grade of grit until it stops giving up crud and /or milky film of water and feels really glassy smooth to the fingertips. Then go again with then next finest pad and be totally surprised how much they still cut through the surface where at the previous level you may have thought it was good enough. Once you get to 12000 it is insane that there is still some cutting action going on.
No, completely dry. They did fine and I popped them in a tub of water and cleaned them up. They were all good.
