Excellent work Alan this has come up nicely. Same kit I built a few months back has slightly higher action like yours but in fact feels great to play (maybe due to scale length on this style of axe?)

Just looking over your thread and it seems you learned a ton in building your guitar and it looks awesome! Im also in the process of learning about/building my own, got inspired reading about yours!

Great job Alan! I'm glad the guitar turned out in the end. Your first set neck can always be a tricky undertaking - I've got two guitars here with an action that's a little higher then I'd like, but still love playing them. It's all part of the learning experience!

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to thank everybody for their help again.

I had a ball building my SG guitar and I am wrapped with the result

I have posted a couple of pics just to show the finished product.

I stuck a diamente thingy in one of the eyes, attached the strap and put the cover on the truss rod hole in the headstock

I lowered the action a bit and then re-strung and tuned it - all good practice.

I think one of the tone pots isn't working but not too fussed - might look at it when I can stop myself from pretending I am Angus Young ha!!

I am just perusing the forum for possible ideas for another guitar build

Thanks again - you don't meet genuinely nice people very often so it has been a real privillege working with all you guys.

Thanks for the new bone nut Dingobass (it's beautiful) - I want to put it on for the experience so I will get to that as soon as I can.
