Bought a new soldering iron, and life is a lot easier now. But not quite sure how to wire the switch.
The diagram I have from electric herald is very useful, but I'm not sure how to interpret the alternating tabs on the switch diagram. My switch has 8 in a row. I looked at the Pitbull TL wiring diagram for HH, but the switch in the diagram has 7 in a row.

On the 7-in-a-row switches, the 4th/middle common connection is basically the two middle connections on the 8-in-a-row switch pre-joined together, which you'd do both for a standard Strat configuration and also in this situation.
Note that in the diagram the two common connections, one per side, are shown joined together. On the 8-in-a-row switch , the two common terminals are arranged to be next to each other in the middle of the switch, as opposed to at opposite ends of the switch on the 4-a-side-style switch.
The 7-in-a-row switches save a bit of time for standard configurations, but don't allow the flexibility to do something a bit different from the norm.
As you are mixing pickups from different sources, there is a 50/50 chance that the output polarities will be reversed on one pup compared to the other, so the mid position will give the thin 'Peter Green' 'out-of-phase' sound. If this happens, and you don't want to keep it (it's interesting but far less generally useful than the standard mid-position sound), then you need to swap the output connections on one of the pickups, either the red and green on the Tonerider or the black and yellow on the Artist. Only swap one pair, otherwise you'll end up back where you started from! The bare/screen wire always goes to ground regardless, so you'll have to separate it from it's current wire connection to do the swap.
