Update:
While doing some cleaning-up of my flat a couple of days ago, I stopped to move the Gold Strat body from where it was hanging up, to another place, as I casually examined it, I found out that what I had thought was a pretty serious ding in the body turned out to be less-serious than I had thought, so, I'm not going to junk the body after all since I think it is fix-able, the ding doesn't look to be as deep as I thought it was, what's more, the paint seems to have dried hard and can be sanded-back so it's flat, ready for another coat of fresh paint, I'm going to leave it for now because I still have a lot of cleaning-up to do, and, I have a House Inspection due at 2:30pm this afternoon, it is currently 6:37am and I am having my first coffee for the day, I'll let you guys know how it all goes, I'm keeping my computer online all day today though so I can read your comments when I take a break from cleaning my flat.

I managed to get in contact with the person who was going to do my Housing Inspection this afternoon, and I asked them if they could re-schedule it for Monday next week to give me more time to clean the place up, they said it was okay so now, my Flat Inspection is scheduled for Monday next week at 9:30am, in the meantime, that gives me heaps more time, and therefore less stress for me to deal with, I'm feeling in a really good mood today.
Doc, if we've learned anything in the last week or so its that hope is never lost. Take Andyxlh's RC4 as an example, binned, then resumed and now Schmick as Schmick can be. Gold Strat shall live!Quote:

Thought I would post a couple of pics of the damage that the Gold Strat body suffered when it fell to the floor from where I had it hanging up, firstly, when it hit the floor, it sustained a small gouge which I think is the worst of the damage, this is what it looks like, and I think I can repair it with some Cyanoacrylate Glue:

I reckon the scrapes should be easily fixed with a bit of sanding, I'm going to be sanding the paint flat anyway, so it's no drama really.
Doc I missed your post saying the gold axe fell, what happened did a wall mount fail ?
damage looks pretty bad, unless you are a relic fan it definitely needs to be sanded back and grain filled. You might get some of the dents/scrapes out with a hot iron and wet cloth.

I'm going to try sanding the scrapes with some 320 or 400 grit sandpaper and see if I can smooth them out, my Soldering Iron isn't working at the moment, cause the Iron needs replacing, so I'm not able to try the hot iron and wet cloth method on the gouge, I'll have to wait til I buy a replacement Soldering Iron.
Some good did come of it though, it made me take some time off working on the guitar to allow the gold paint time to properly dry, I am really surprised how long paint takes to dry with Darwin's climate, it seems to take something like a good few months or so before the paint is truly dry, see, that's my impatience getting the better of me again.
Sorry to read of your misfortune in the fall. I've had the same happen to me, and decided to convince my wife that, in winter, I can hang the drying parts on the shower curtain rod (fixed rod, screwed in, not a pressure mount removable rod) in the restroom with the exhaust fan on. I only have to time it so that nobody will be showering in the next 12 hours. I've not had a mishap since.Quote:
