Yeah. With the quilt I was going to do an acrylic gloss, but now I want a satin finish so TO it is.

Visit? I thought I was a full time resident mate. :P
bwhahaha Pabs I'm not sure what everyone's sentence is in the NW. All I know I will be there 3 x life and that is growing every time DB visits my workshop haha
Looks good pabs, shame you lost the quilt, but this looks ok mate
I think we must be stepping up to a naughty condo by now....
Looking good Pabs. Great save. I do love a nice orange tele. The quilt was beautiful but I like this as well. Sure you dont want to go high gloss??
cheers,
Gav.
Thanks guys. Yeah it looks alright, still a bit dirty about losing the quilt.
Gav, are you volunteering? Lol. Nah, ever since I satined up the explorer, I've loved how it feels and looks. A workhorse finish, no fingerprints or sticky gloss.

More orange.
Pabs, I know its a sore point, but if you don't mind. I haven't sanded through a veneer before, I'm shit scared of doing it, could you give a rough idea as to how easy it was to sand through? like what grit etc?
These quilt veneers are way thinner than the flame ones I've seen. That said, it was way too easy. I sanded gently with 180, raised the grain with a damp cloth, sanded with 240 then with 400. I have a feeling the bad one on the top horn was there before I started.
