Congrats on what your achieving on this guitar Nick. I honestly never knew that actual Paisley material is used to get the pattern, maybe because I just accepted it and never dug any deeper,in how it was achieved .But well done thanks for sharing

Pretty in pink - magenta Mandelbrot - whatever, that is a really amazing look and a very cool instrument.
I had some reservations about the fabric going on smoothly, but you have managed to surmount any probs.
Well done.
Thanks for the support everyone.
Quick question -
I'm trying to use only parts that I have around the place.
I've got a 5 way import switch to use as a selector but not really sure how to go about it with just 2 pickups. Any suggestions? I don't have any extra caps to play with.
How many lugs on the switch, 7 or 8? Is the humbucker 2 or 4 wire, and what caps do you have?
It's a 7 lug switch, 2 wire HB and I've got .022uF and a .05uF cap.
You only have a volume control on it, right? The 7 lug import switch limits you a bit, but you could maybe do:
1. Bridge
2. Bridge + Neck
3. Neck
4. Bridge + Neck + 0.022 cap
5. Bridge + 0.022 cap
The cap would be a "max tone" deal with no pot to adjust it, so it may be a little too much... but, I guess you could add the 0.022 and 0.05 caps in series which should give you around 0.015uF.
I will be putting a tone pot on there too - I just hadn't scavenged one yet from the gear drawers :P
I was thinking the same sort of thing. The super 5 way switches sound pretty interesting too.
I was also just tempted to use positions 1-3-5 for the standard bridge -> bridge + neck -> neck, and just use 2+4 as killswitch positions.
You can't really isolate the 2 and 4 positions with a 7 lug switch, so the 2+4 kill option would be problematic. But, you could make it work with 1-2-3 hot and kill 4 and 5, or kill 1 and 2 and 3-4-5 hot (essentially making it a 3-way).
With the addition of a tone pot you could wire it with the pickup combo's listed in my previous post, but with the tone pot only connected in position's 1-4 and no tone for pos 5. It would mean 2 and 4 are doubled up though.
Yeah I didnt think about the 7 lug issue.
I'm thinking pos 1-3 hot 4-5 cold. I dont want to fumble finding pos 3 for my bridge tone.
So do I wire lug 1 bridge, lug 3 neck, lug 4 to volume pot and leave 5-7 free?
