So scratches all sanded, not worried about the stain and clear as it will act as a sealer.

SECOND PROBLEM....... looking closely at the neck i noticed a dent in it... bummer.

TWO SOLUTIONS.... wet cloth and steam iron or wood dust and glue. It was easier as i had sanded the stain and clear off.
I had to use both, steamed it first then used a mixture of stained wood dust and wood glue, a light sand and a restain, worked a treat, whew, thank goodness.

So just went and checked the body, its had about 3 coats of primer a fine fill body filler and 3 coats of undercoat, thats when i had a paint reaction, problem is i didnt know if it was from the filler or undercoat although i had my suspicions.

The reaction on the timber hanger i think, was from heavy buildup.
So sprayed another mist coat of grey undercoat on the reacted area, it crinkled up straight away. Well there goes the idea of multiple mist coats.
I scraped some off and a lot of filler came with it so i sealed the rest with white primer. That was ok, no reaction.
So grey reacts to white not the other way round. Will change the undercoat me thinks.

So fixed the crackle problem, incompatible spray bases. I used a high build acrylic primer and no probs this time. Will now build up the coats.

Next the tedious task of building up coats of wipe on poly to the neck and fretboard, between 20 and thirty i hope. Only 6 so far and 1 on the fretboard.

Twelve coats on the neck, 5 on the fretboard. Sanding with 400 between every 3 coats now.
Body had 3 mysterious dents in it, funny how they appear out of thin air. Another fill and sand, then re undercoat.

So ordered chrome tuners with white pearl tuning pegs. WHITE... I DONT THINK SO!
Tell me guys do they look white to you?

Oh yea, i wrote back to the guy saying he sent me grey, he replied.....
