Welcome back Nitro. wow I've never had the neck crack like that, do you wax up the screws?
Ok, back again, body has final coats of clear on, its all dry and all i need is to cut and polish. Keeping colour under wraps until all assembled.
Started staining the neck but found large mill marks so back to the drawing board for some more sanding then a restain.

COLOUR REVEAL.
Finished spraying the headstock. All up......4 filler primers, 4 silver basecoats, 3 of the candy apple red, 2 of clear. Then a resand and 2 more coats of cherry apple red and 3 2k clear coats. Doubled up on the last 2 coats to get depth. It worked.
Just waiting for decal to arrive, then a final clear to seal it, then cut and polish.

That colour is really, really great
Ooooo. Very nice. Candies look amazing when done well.
Very nice red.
I'd use 2 clear coats at least over the decal if you don't want to leave a raised area where the decal goes. By nature it's very easy to sand through any raised edges in the clear round the decal and expose the edges of the decal sheet, so you need a bit of thickness in the clear to avoid doing that. (You may already be doing this but you said 'one final coat' so I had to say something just in case).
