haha that's it Nitro, as you say take your time and ask lots of questions and you should minimise any problems with the build. Probably hardest part will be gluing the veneer on the body and getting it nice and flat

Next question...im going to upgrade the plastic nut again but this time i want to upgrade to a black Graph Tec
link.. http://www.realparts.com.au/graph-te...or-gibson.html
The only problem is the size, most SG, gibson compatable nuts are the wrong size, correct shape. The width of my nut is 42mm, most are 43,43.8 and 44. The width of e string to e string is usually 35mm, mine is 34mm. So could i trim a bit off the edges and still have the e strings not fall off?
btw the depth 6mm and height 9mm are always correct...
I wouldn't try that nitro, the wrong string spacing will cause tuning issues.
You could always get some nut files and a blank and shape your own........
I don't know, at the end of the day you are talking about 1mm difference, so that's 1/2mm either side
Well think ive got it sorted, found a black graph nut on guitarfetish site that is 42 mm, so i will order that thanks guys @andy @dedman, that wouldve been a real problem for me.
Pickups arrived last week, been out of it for awhile due to sickness and work back injury, not serious just painful.
They look pretty meaty

Veneer was a bit warped so i did some research and wet them and sandwiched them between two bare bits of timber then weights on top of them, it worked, nice and flat now.
Measured them, lapped them and cut them, taped the edges together ( credit to youtube) then cut them out to guitar body shape.
