I would tear the place apart looking for that chip
Sorry guys I should have explained. Its not a chip, its indented.
I should have also explained....the reason why i'm not huddled rocking in the foetal position is because I got my new kit tonight ;)......will start another build diary soon.
wow the body must have fallen on a sharp edge. Doubt the iron on damp cloth will get that dent out. Think the only option is to fill it with Timbermate or you have just started the first stage of the relic process.
Is the dent on the front or back face ? looks like its toward the bottom edge ?
What's the new kit you scored ?
You have a rapid increase of GAS mate ! hahah
Bummer. Hope it is on the back otherwise it may just be the beginning of the battle scars........onwards and upwards with the accidental home baked relic!
My neighbor would say she could hear me praying for rain if i did that to my guitar, i feel your pain mate.
I have got a TL1 kit but am unsure about drilling holes for the string-thru body setup. Am I correct to assume that I can avoid this by using the bridge in the kit as a "top-loader" bridge, thus avoiding scary hole drilling?
Hi Juddernaut, yes the supplied tele bridges the strings enter from behind the bridge plate so no need for string through holes.
Maybe after a couple of builds you can attempt a string through - I think they look mega sexy and probably have more sustain
thanks Wokka, yes I agree that a string-thru definitely look better but a man has gotta know his limitations....
I assume I can always change to string-thru later.
Hi Juddernaut, we better not thread jack Andy's build diary but yes easy to convert the PBG bridge to a string through bridge
No worries Wokks and Judders. As you would have seen though I managed the string through and it was my first time. I used that $30 drill guide thing and a heap of practice on scrap. If your really after a string through, I say go for it. just practice until you feel confident. My plan B was have a go before I did anything major...if i stuffed it, just plug the holes and paint it solid.
As it turns out i didn't need to.
