Gluing the shim in. I don't have an after picture. It didn't come out perfectly but I think it will work well. It just shifted a tiny bit so it wasn't flush against the back of the pickup cavity.

And now time for gluing the neck. I sure hope I did this right.

Looks good, give it 24 hours or so and then see what thee hast wrought! Great work so far, keep it going.
Looks good to me! As you haven't located the bridge yet, the tiniest side movement of the neck can be corrected with bridge placement anyway.
Well poop, I ordered some Wilkinson tuners but they are too big for the headstock. Guess they will be going back.

On a positive note the neck joint is dry and I filled the gaps with timber mate. I just need to stain it then I'll be ready for some tru oil.

That 's lookin' the biz.
Can I tru oil or wipe on poly over this blackwood fingerboard? I like how Rickenbacker does there's but I'm not sure how it will work with this particular fingerboard.
That is what I would do on any of these fake rosewood fret boards, irrespective as to whether Ric shape or not as most build diaries so far indicate a rather poor quality surface that may not look too good over time.
